General information about Salsaeverybody Dance School Classes and Clubs around the Country.
Our classes first and foremost aim at enabling you to familiarize yourself with your own body and the basic ways in which all bodies are capable of moving. The aim is to dance as an individual. We supply you with the basics and hope to provide a relaxed and inviting atmosphere for you to develop your own flair. The music is an invitation to dance and we want to prepare you to receive it in the style that suits you…
In practical terms this means we start the class with a thorough warm-up, exploring the movements of all body parts; we move through the range of movements of the neck, torso, ribs, waist, hips, knees, feet…to a mix of salsa/Timba, Contemporary, Semba, Rumba, Kizomba, Tarraxa, Merengue, Cha Cha Cha, Kuduro, Bachata, Reggaeton, Makossa, Afro House, music - all the Afro-Caribbean rhythms under the sun…
Classes are small. Teachers interact and dance with every student a number of times throughout the duration of the class and give personal feedback. The emphasis is on listening and dancing to the music, interspersed with short periods of verbal instruction.
Our after-class club starts the night slow, easing beginners and improvers onto the dance floor. We play music to which you can practice and incorporate the new styles learnt onto the dance floor and out of class with ease.
